Apparently, two vintage car rallies were starting in Sacramento today, and the cars I saw this morning were from the other one. We finished our first day at Fort Bragg on the craggy NorCal coast, so I thought I’d share some photos. We had a little rain and had to put the top up. We tried going topless again after lunch, but the rain returned and we had to cover up. The people were great, the cars were cool, the roads were amazing, and the terrain was awe inspiring. Highway 128 was a treat. The Sunchaser was a big hit, and the guy in the Lotus and one of the Vantage drivers raved about it. Big smiles for me.
We stay in Fort Bragg tonight, and do another 200 miles tomorrow. So far, this has been a lot of fun.

Yay! FIAT 124 Spider! That Alfa is gorgeous, as is that blue Porsche 356....much love for the Elan as well! Importing a Kia Elan would just be hilarious! :P

Fun stuff. The Packard woody, dog dish hubcap 307 Chevelle not pretending to be a SS, correct wide whites on the Continental, 41 Caddy, not to mention the Sunchaser.

I thought the 307 was cool too. Too many tarted-up versions out there now...it’s nice to see something that at least appears original.

I know that’s the case for ‘70 LS6 454 Chevelles. Saw one yesterday at a Goodguys show. The owner emphasized that the car was driven to the show, and is driven regularly. Kinda made me think it wasn’t a real LS6; rather a nicely done tribute.

I saw a nice 71-72 El Camino the other day, and was amazed to see it not wearing SS badges. Making a nicely done tribute/clone and then driving it all the time to shock those who assume might be kind of fun.
